about

With "Rise of the Night" Daniel Kuhn presents a cohesive collection of his solo works, constructed from home-made electronics, hard and soft synths and found sound artifacts.
Shedding his previous alias 'Aircoholic' for his second release, Herr Kuhn has produced an album of the night, by the night, for the night.
Featuring sprawling samples pitched down to nocturnal, sombre tones, his creations advance as an avalanche of swelling sound, to devour the listener between precision-cut rhythms, turning upon themselves like cogs in a well-oiled machine.
Yet within each track, beats the steady, subtle pulse and wheeze of an artificial heart, which pushes these recordings beyond the sum of their metal parts.

Daniel Kuhn / Aircoholic is a hunter and gatherer, sleepless in Berlin. ... more
